Agreed, there are robots that do much of the work in the body shop. I only meant to say that that work represents are far smaller amount of the overall time and effort that goes into building your car than someone might expect. It is maybe a 20-30% of the overall work that goes into assembling a car.

This is an incredibly correct post. As someone with auto experience this is how cars are made even on an assembly line. Just instead of 1 person doing the task many people do it as the car moves past them.

When you are talking such low production run vehicles, yeah making it by hand is definitely the cheaper option. That little red button is the start/stop button for the car. I totally see someone (including myself) downshifting into first and turning the car off. Maybe not the best placement.
