Aaaah, a case study in the wild. Be careful, Bash, these are dangerous creatures.

@WarlordPayne: Seriously. I hadn't even heard that before he said it, and now I feel like I have been enriched as a person.
@Shinobiii: Or maybe just this would be adequate.
@Royta: Dumb luck.
@mordennight: (Is he serious? I can't tell if he's serious. Maybe I should just say nothing. Yeah, just going to leave this one alone.)
WTF, dueling audio on the main page? Er, okay...
@(Starman) 258, Brigadier-General of the FireWire Battalion: Right there with you on the Flash bit... I stopped going to IGN around the time each page took 5 minutes to load. It's such a shame, too, because there's plenty you can do with just HTML, CSS and a little bit of JavaScript. Sigh.
Very interesting concept, but I suppose we'll have to wait to see if it makes for a compelling gameplay mechanic or not.
@Comatose Turtle: Oh, and I think a lot more MMO's should take to this model before it's too late for them.
OH, CRAP! I MISSED FREE PANCAKE DAY!
I suppose I'm usually closest to the "having control" group, which is why I feel like I have to argue with it. I wouldn't say that it's "control" per se that draws me, but more specifically "creation".
Split-screen?!
*Bursts through the wall*
God, that was depressing. And I thought I was already living inside a giant advertisement, but now to hear that all of my worst enemies will rule the future... Achievements, Social Networking, Leaderboards...
@Comatose Turtle: Then again, I haven't bought cards in... 15 years? I have deep suspicions that ridiculous is now the norm, so really it's whatever.
Now you've done it. All of us Magic nerds are going to come out of the woodwork to exclaim how ridiculous and unbalanced and ambiguous these cards are, as if there were any reason at all to object in such a fashion.
Wow, they're so rich that they don't even have to buy their useless gadgets— people are just chomping at the bit to give them their useless gadgets, thereby to obtain some measure of credibility for their dubious products!
@Masonvrocks: Nosir, it's not. As an American, I find only a strange sense of pity when people try to offend by calling us "Yanks"...
@Revenge_of_Nekojin: Morbid curiosity? Why not? If you could get it for free, why the hell would it matter whether or not it was a terrible game?
@knacko: The man has a point. If someone wasn't going to buy it in the first place, then you can't really claim that piracy is the same as "lost sales".
