I’m pretty sure news reports had nothing to do with it. I see hacks without any clout get taken down all the time. The page on the hack is hosted on Github, which I’m sure Nintendo does pay attention to; they’ll just host it elsewhere if it comes down to it.

If Nintendo actively goes after ROM hacks like you think, romhacking.net wouldn’t exist by now.

I was in the same boat with Crucible. The first I heard about it was when it was un-released. Then while I was doing a Google search about this game, I learned that they apparently have their own game engine, too.

Humble Bundle is running a sale on Capcom stuff, and while it would be nice to try out RE7, my leased fixed wireless junk started crapping out and dropping my internet in sporadic, yet consistent half-hour to 1 hour intervals. And my ISP can’t drive anyone out here for 2 WEEKS.

It just chugs along for 60 hours, and then stops. You could bow out of the story at any point in the game and still take away as much as someone who played all the way through.

Game Pass is pretty great, the best thing Microsoft’s done in a long time. It’s certainly scratched my itch for some of the roguelikes and isometric titles.

All this is in its early phase, as it’s currently not 100% guaranteed to work on your PS2, depending on what DVD player firmware it’s running, and homebrew support is limited. But it’ll probably improve pretty quickly.

It does. Rollback is implemented alongside the typical delay-based methods, and kicks in when incoming inputs start to arrive late, or at least that’s how I understand it. But Capcom implemented it wrong in SFV, and in its current state, it’ll take money and time to fix that they don’t want to invest.

Yeah, it’s far from the worst, which is grass/ice and all 7 of its weaknesses.
