I can imagine another reason for the discontinuation is that Ford is current facing a class-action lawsuit for it’s dual-clutch “automatic” transmission from it’s Mexican-built MK7 Fiestas for the North American market, albeit the Focus is as well but the sales numbers for the Focus have been higher.

I used to commute in sub-compacts (95 Civic hatchback, 93 VW GTI) and sports cars (RX7), and then I got myself a used Mercedes Benz S Class. It was old - 85, 420SEL... but man was it comfortable... I felt really good after commuting... my body wasn’t tossed around in a loud tin can... I just felt comfortable.

So this isn’t terrible like a Murano just because it has the Range Rover badge... and gadgets? Mmm k. It seems just as out of place as the Murano.
