Look at the way “like a girl” is used as an insult for boys.  Throw like a girl.  Cry like a girl.  Whine like a girl (said by people who clearly have not been paying attention, because men can whine until you want to shoot them).  Being a girl is seen as being both less than and other.  It’s really irritating.
