Why not just take off and nuke the site from orbit?
Heart of Ice.
Ironically, the bridge bunnies DID NOT die in Macross.
I wasn't mourning because...Xena has cheated death so many times before, met gods who can easily bring humans back to life, that it really wouldn't be implausible for another season or spin-off comics to simply resurrect her. Other scifi/fantasy deaths were much more....permanent.
I was shocked....at how low the writers had sunk, to shamelessly put in a comic book death. If you actually watched "Maelstrom" they put in so many blatant hints that Starbuck would come back from the dead, that it was obvious she wasn't going to stay dead....then the writers and cast acted like they'd actually…
How the heck can you include Dualla in this list? Her character had become a living joke by Season 4.5. They barely used her throughout the series; indeed, a complaint was that she was what TVTropes calls "the Artifact" — a leftover from abandoned plotlines which never happened. The Apollo/Dualla romance was…
That is not dead which can eternal lie.
George R.R. Martin is also a massive Jack Vance fan; I expect him to chime in soon.
"Captain, they're using an ion drive on that ship! I bet they could teach us a thing or two"
"Sir, your Asuka fanfiction was self-serving, and filled with sex!"
Actually, Meredith, this discussion came up before around the "I Am Legend" movie; you'd be surprised just how quickly nature reclaims urban areas if humans aren't there to maintain them. The "I Am Legend" producers pointed to several studies and modern examples to back this up - also check out the "Life After…
Justice League: Unlimited. Yes, you can point out Star Trek TOS, Farscape, etc. but if you think about it, many of these shows were cancelled because their ratings weren't doing too well; sometimes the ratings weren't outright bad and the network just got nervous, we get that; other times the ratings just weren't…
Admittedly, he doesn't play by the book, and admittedly, he breaks the Three Laws of Robotics, but he gets results damn it!
I'm going to buck the trend here and say that the Imperial Guard would actually conquer all other armies, including the Space Marines.
Arguably, I feel that Theon's complete absence in books 3 and 4, which led MANY readers to assume he was dead (for a dozen years between when books 2 and 5 were published) made it that much more of a surprise when he shows up again later.
His torture was described in flashback in the books. Moreover, I don't think the TV show has been dragging it out TOO much - well earlier in the season it was, but since episode 6 "the Climb" when he started flaying him, they got to the actual heart of the torture stuff.
Medieval societies didn't possess a concept of adolescence, so a girl was considered "a woman" as soon as she started menstruating. Sansa in book 3 was 13, but is 15 in the TV series due to everyone being aged up. While even 13 is considered a bit young, it wasn't unusual to marry noblewomen that early, provided…
Roosevelt took the Canal Zone, and let Congress debate. And while the debate goes on the Canal does also.
