I think they do have to show him...feeling bad that people have died, to show that he's the "good" guy, and isn't callous about it. But there reaches a point when he shouldn't feel directly responsible for these things.

I know: "imagination network" — what does that even *mean*?!
You make a good point; there is indeed a "genre niche" for cheesy teen light stuff like "Secret Circle" or even "Kyle XY" type stuff.
Its hard to advertise when they've got really cruddy programming.
1 - as you point out, cancelling Atlantis was a mistake; season 5 had found good footing (Robert Picardo was a needed addition) - I'm not saying it would have run for more than 2 more years at most, but they'd proven before that they could run 2 shows at once; instead, it seemed like they arbitrarily cancelled it to…
The Vader "no" thing wasn't too bad, I mean I can see how on paper they might have thought it was a good idea, and it isn't too silly....but it *is* distracting from the power of that moment in the film. It was a bad idea because its too distracting, more than anything.

Why does Jane Espenson keep getting hired to new projects like this? She tends to run them into the ground.
Toni Graphia (Battlestar Galactica seasons 1 and 2, Terminator: SCC) was on the writing staff. Mirando Otto was in it. I lament the loss of this show.
Even producing BSG at a loss, they could only afford those "Great visuals" for season finales or mid-season cliffhangers.
Networks have to adapt to how the way people watch TV is changing.
