Yes, someone actually focusing on a music career would be different (though Chua also said sports are a distraction...which I think is very arbitrary, and if anything, high school football taught me the discipline and vital social skills needed…

I agree with Chua's point that this has been taken to something of an extreme, every household has yelling or stern parenting at some point. I'm not "horrified" like child abuse or something, but I still strongly disagree.
