Why is it an "improvement" when one of those corvette engines is put in a s20o0 or miata but a desecration when one of Hondas engines is put in a Corvette? Id gladly take a Vette with a AP1/2 out of the S2000.

That would be a good idea. With old Mercs and maybe other cars the instrument cluster and all the switches light up with only a few bulbs strategically placed inside the dash and fiber optic wire brings the light to them. So you just have to replace one or two bulbs to get illumination again.

I figured thats going to be the way with all cars eventually. Everyone is going with LED lights, and if they go out you will have to replace the whoooleee thing. No more just replacing a 10 dollars bulb.

No, several of the times have been when people were just driving by straight, not turning. One of them was out. A quick google search revealed they aren't as reliable as you may think.
