So, in short, you can’t keep the asshole attitude out of MOBAs, because assholes will still play MOBAs and be assholes.

So wait, the report interviewed a person who makes incredibly short games that are also free which effectively makes the refund argument moot? Way to go, confusing/misleading Kotaku reporting as usual...
The next step was figuring out how to actually pull all of this off. We reached out to a few publishers again to see if they’d be interested in helping, but the answer we got back was that it was “too new and different.” Publishers tend to be very risk-averse, and we were venturing into uncharted waters.
I’m a little conflicted at the designed-for-casual-slash-mobile vibe too, but OTOH, call me crazy but the idea of “single-player but MMO-ish” is kind of right up my alley, so I’m tempted.
While the longevity concern is valid, I’d hope that just about anything could outdo Evolve, given how 2K shot themselves in the foot on that even before the game released, alienating many would-be customers with their nauseating focus on DLC.
Yeah, that “backtrack” pisses me off even more. The first generation Vita is the only generation worth owning (the only one with an OLED screen).
Actually, I’d say #1 on their list is the most important (and combines with this one). You might promise yourself whatever, but you might just forget it anyway. WRITE THAT SHIT DOWN. Then it’s out of your head, onto paper, and you’ll see it in the morning. Done.
Dude, speak for yourself. I’ve been waiting for S’moreos since February at least.
My pet peeve is that I’ve seen plenty of uninformed management types seem to think that software engineers in the frontend and QA categories are roles that can readily be filled by any ol’ junior developer. The former possibly suffers from the historically low barrier to entry into HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, which has…
That’s definitely the impression I get from this. While I guess I’d have to actually play the game to see if it really fits, it feels rather forced and like it’s trying too hard, whereas XC’s music really worked, without trying to be epic 24/7. Also there’s way too much in the way of vocals shoved everywhere. This…
While I am inclined to agree that faster *can* become the new normal (because I think I have discovered it of myself over the course of my career as a software engineer), this “advice” generally has me yelling “whoa there, put on the brakes.” There are a few staggeringly large caveats here:
A donate button is undeniably better for the consumers and the mod authors (i.e. the people who actually do the work), but is undeniably worse for Valve and the publishers (i.e. the people who sit on their asses and don’t deserve a cent of the money paid for mods). Unfortunately, while it would be the right way to do…
^ This. A thousand times this, holy crap.
I had reservations about Titan Souls to begin with, but now I’m _definitely_ making sure I never give that dev money. Thanks for helping me make up my mind, douchebag developer!
Ugh. Here I want to think MS are being less stupid lately, but I keep having to remind myself that that doesn’t apply to their games division whatsoever.
Thanks to everyone who replied! I'm giving these a shot.

Does anyone happen to have a set of these and wear them over glasses, and can attest to whether they're at all uncomfortable?

They could offer to pay *me* $6 and I still wouldn't buy it, because Origin.
Even before writing a resignation letter, hopefully you've got the next step in your career lined up. If you don't, you might want to think about that. I've had _that_ deter me from resigning a position.
I've always chalked up Chrome's memory use to tab isolation (which is also why you have that many processes). I also can't say I've had that many Chrome crashes.
