I love all six Star Wars movies (warts and all), but hated Abrams' Star Trek so much I have no optimism for this. The Star Wars movies are full of missed opportunities and bad decisions, but Lucas at least had a vision. Abrams has never been more than superficial.

I generally have a problem with taking stills of an animated piece and critiquing them as is (effectively what the artist above has done by "revitalizing" them). Even when they are relatively decent compositions they are still eliminating important information like timing, visual transition, and as egregiously removed…
