Haven't heard any problems like that with the 3DS at all. Mine is perfectly fine, and have had it for years. My friends 3DS's are all okay as well. 3DS is an extremely well made handheld imo.

I am fine with videos that change it up a bit. The characters have enough personality that you don't need to hear them talk to see them being themselves, and what they are trying to do. Actions speak louder than words.
