It’s been kind of known that a disturbing percentage of people occupying the c-suite have very sociopathic tendencies. Not that the allegations may eventually turn out to be unfounded, but it wouldn’t not surprise me at all if Altman was really like this.

The “new” car I purchased is a 2018 Toyota Highlander Hybrid XLE so it’s not quite the state of the art.  However, even back then, CD Players were one of those head-scratchers as to why any vehicle manufacturer thought it was a good idea to pre-install.  It’s like seeing a 3.5 inch floppy drive on a 2010 computer.

I bought a new car (well, a new used car; car prices, new and used, are outrageous these days) a couple weeks ago, and it came with an in-dash cd player. One of the first things I did, was buy a cell phone mount that sticks into the CD Player. It certainly wasn’t going to be useful any other way...

That still image is indeed from “The Simpsons”. If I recall correctly, it’s from an older episode in which Homer thinks he’s dying after eating puffer fish sushi and makes a bucket list. I could be mashing up two episodes, though.

Once a season, I feel obligated to say that I actually live in the city of Cerritos. It’s a place known for its titanium-clad library and performing arts center. It’s known even more for its auto square and its accompanying jingle. My work here is done...

Truly, there is no ethical consumption under capitalism. It’s just a matter of where we individually draw the line. I get what you’re saying, but so many manufacturers have EV offerings now that it’s no longer Tesla or nothing at all. A lot of these EV manufacturers have been in the auto game (with ICE) long enough

I know the answer to why these guys want the Speakership is money and power, but after a certain amount of both, the headaches really don’t seem to be worth it. You have to deal with some people who want to see everything burn to the ground and, on a good day, have about the same temperament as a colicky baby.

Obscene wealth really does rot your brain.  It completely distorts your view of reality and removes you from the everyday lived experiences of 99.99% of the people who do the vast majority of the living and dying on this planet.  The pack of drooling idiots in this post are a testament to that.

Living in southern California, I’ve spent way more Thanksgivings and Christmases in shorts and t-shirts than not.

I go to San Francisco, on average, about twice a year. I live in southern California, but I have a sister who lives in silicon valley. Despite the many times over the years I’ve been there, I’m always amazed by how cold it gets in the summer. It’s not the coldest I’ve ever been in a California summer (freezing my ass

As a Californian, I’m all for this as long as the rest of us poors get to dig a moat around the entire thing along with a giant wall, which they will pay for.  It’s like what Robert Frost said...good fences make good neighbors...

I don’t know how many lawyers the state of Florida can afford, but my guess is the House of Mouse can afford a LOT more. Disney can probably afford whole law school classes from the most highly-regarded universities. Disney has convinced whole generations of kids to get their parent to buy plastic for top dollar.  I’m

While Swalwell’s choice of words is...regrettable, the point stands. McCarthy is being led around by Marjorie Taylor Greene. Marjorie. Taylor. Greene. Let that sink in. If being controlled by a deranged psycho who doesn’t know her ass from her elbow isn’t the definition of weakness, I don’t know what is.

Ah, the universe’s well-known misogyny has literally struck again.

I am a big believer in the idea that everyone should have the presumption of innocence, until proven otherwise in a court of law, but, girl, you are not helping your cause... Her ONLY defense is that she’s writing a murder/crime novel as a follow-up to her children’s book.

Yay. Another story in which everyone involved is a terrible and trashy human being. I hope, someday, everyone involved falls into a figurative hole in which we’ll never hear from them again.

I attended the graduate engineering commencement at USC (University of Southern California, not South Carolina) last Friday. My daughter was getting her masters in astronautical engineering, but the commencement was for the full range of graduate engineering programs. The number of Chinese and Indian students is

Early on in his ownership of Twitter, Musk said that a lot of stupid mistakes will be made.  Unlike FSD, he was completely right about this and it’s right on schedule as he expected.

Exactly. They knew. They just didn’t care or they were relying on the lack of regulation to shield them from liability (along with the help of a good lawyer).

It’s the little things that make life worth living...
