Income tax doesn’t work.. if you want to get the higher earners to pay more, you have to hit capital gains.

Going to throw a request for advice out there... my son is 6, has mild high-functioning autism. Over the course of his life, typical autism symptoms were sometimes there, and then gone the next minute. He’ll be very awkward socially, although he REALLY wants to make friends, and keeps trying, etc., and can sometimes…
I’ve found that sinking funds are the budgeting magic bullet (for me). Literally EVERY bill or expense outside of groceries is set up as one giant sinking fund. I look at how much overall I need to sink every month for all my essential expenses, and I move 1/2 of that money into a separate account twice every month.
I regularly drive into work during blizzards just because of this. AND there’s free coffee at the office. Work is like a vacation at this stage.

I agree with you in principle, but this all assumes that the two people having the conversation are both a) rational and b) have the ability to view the situation from the other’s point of view. If a person gives a reason (justifying why what they did is right), the other might disagree that it was the right choice…
Recently, Clinton indirectly alleged that Gabbard was being “groomed” by Russian officials
LOL Thought the exact same thing.
I’m about your age. My dad was a shitty dad when I was little. Before the divorce he was never home, after the divorce he was completely gone and out to lunch to the point where, as a teenager, I cut off all contact for several years. Had to maintain contact later to ask for financial help for my undergrad (my mom had…
Wow. So... you’re... upset...?
Well, no, US culture is kinda racist, so any form of economy put in place is going to reflect financial disparities caused by that racism. A form of economy cannot be “innately racist”.
I use Mint for budgeting, but it depends on how you like to budget.
I don’t know that they’re aiming to eliminate it, and I don’t know that they could. I’m in Canada, and provincial health plans cover tons of stuff, but we can still buy private plans to beef up, supplement, or replace the public option.
Out of curiosity, did you ever try going straight to listeners to have them donate? i.e. not “buy” the podcast or whatever, but just give what they want?
Or you could get your revenue through routes that AREN’T ad-based, i.e. value-for-value model.
Ok, in the face of stuff like this, can you (and everybody else on related sites) at least retain SOME sort of objectivity and fact-based reporting?
Shop smart. Shop S-Mart.
To be fair, it’s highly unlikely that SHE sent the cease and desist order and probably had no idea about it, since her legal team sends shit-tons of the same to many, many, many people constantly.
I have a family member who is an actor and my wife and I thought it was amazing how they went to work every day and got applause. So every day for a while my wife and I would applaud each other after coming home from work, usually with an enthusiastic “You did the bare minimum!”
You shouldn’t. But I also think that a lot of people think that supporting one side or the other means you support ALL prevailing views of that one side. You might find that someone who voted for Trump did so because of tax policy or something, not because they believe in guns, religion, and homophobia. Now, whether…
