Not sure if it works for steel cut, but I usually have rolled oats at work (like, a giant bulk bag) and when I want some, I grab a mug, throw in half a cup of oats, a bit of water, microwave it for 1 min. Done. Probably would have to go more than 1 min for steel cut, but there must be some way to do it.

So... was she? Or was the passenger assuming the attendant was drunk/high because she swore? Maybe she had spoken to a bunch of the passengers while boarding and thought the joke would go over well with that lot.

Curious how you’re prepping them that it causes waste? I don’t do steel-cut anymore, but just rolled oats - I buy in bulk, then put some in 3 or 4 mason jars on the weekend with some other ingredients, then grab one as I’m leaving the house. No cook, no waste.
