Godfrey Ho is a director who really deserves closer inspection from the bad movie fan community. Birdemic and The Room have nothing on that guy. I had to roll a sanity check when I saw his flick Catman 2: Boxer's Blow and Robovampire is the sort of thing that'll kill you mysteriously after 7 days.

This guy is an actual Turkish comic book character named Yandim Ali. He punches the crap out of the British and Greeks and there's a kickass adventure movie about him called Son Osmanli that really ought to be seen.

I have to wonder what the social fallout would be of a discovery such as: This is not real. We're all a simulation.

I think so, Brain, but if we didn't have ears we'd look like weasels.

You'll also want to have a look at The Arzach.

Frankly, I'm dying to know what happened at the Dyatlov Pass Incident http://www.cinema-suicide.com/2010/10/02/31-ghost-stories-day-2-the-dyatlov-pass-incident/

Man. I REALLY need to dig into this series. Never read any of them. I'm doing Against A Dark Background right now and liking it quite a bit.

God has a pretty fucked up sense of humor if he's "blessing" Nigerian churches with horse fetuses and objects to be vomited during worship instead of, you know, clean water to drink and nutritious food to eat.

This was my first thought, too. I love the idea of a space elevator or a space tower but as I recall from Robinson's book, the collapsing cable fucking annihilated pretty much everything along Mars' equator.

Far and away my favorite Kirk essay: The Erotic Shatner (ok, it's also about TJ Hooker and Denny Crane)

Probably on back order with mine. It's a popular model.

Is the Justice League movie anything more than an official declaration that WB plans to make a Justice League movie at this point? DC is about to roll out an All-New All-Different JLA and the Supes/Bats/Wonder Woman/Green Lantern/Martian Manhunter/Aquaman JLA is just one of many incarnations of the line up. Is it not

The Forever War by Joe Haldeman also handles physics in space with a degree of realism where acceleration and deceleration is handled by placing the crews of ships into these vacuum sealed pods that are suspended in a liquid that fills the space in the room. There's also FTL travel, but it handles time dilation in a

I just finished reading Red Mars. So I guess I'll be the second one to go.

I actually have a clear memory of having sex in a London hotel room while a Shark show during Shark Week was on the TV. So fuck you, Dr. Ruth!

This is perfectly synced with the beat of the song right now. It's kind of amazing.

YEAHHHHHHHHH!!!!! *Cue shots of Miami and song by The Who*

It is rather surprising to see the shift away from Twilight names and over to something a lot more nerdy and gritty (if those two things can actually coexist). But I'm not terribly shocked by this development. I actually wanted to name my son, due in October, Muad'dib. My wife wasn't really into that.

It's like a Hooters from a William Gibson novel!
