“Just shittier” than TMZ does not accurately depict how much shittier they are. If TMZ is where we’re standing, you can’t even see The Sun from there, and the only thing between the two is an ocean of shit.

At least on occasion, The Onion reports things that turn out to be true.

“Also, trust anything that comes out of The Sun about as much as you’d trust Clarkson’s views on geo-politics.”

I know I must be sounding like a broken record by now, but don’t you find it odd that the far more reputable Guardian didn’t mention this juicy bit of news, despite speaking to Audience members present for the first taping?

Fair cop, fair cop. I wouldn’t want to make the drive either, though not because of the distance. If I didn’t have a motorbike, many of my semi-regular trips from Leeds to London would have been pretty intollerable with traffic.

I didn’t think of it that way, but yeah, that makes perfect sense. That wouldn’t be a bad promo, if they played it right.

Yes and no, it’s a traffic depending sort of thing. But assuming relatively few major obstructions(which is my experience, though I do tend to pick my times) you could make it in not much more.

Tell me about it - I’m from Australia. The UK fits into my state alone seven-and-a-bit times. This place is huge!

Well, to be honest, if I’m going london to Glasgow to pick up a car, I’m not going on a sightseeing tour.

Yes, but in UK terms, any distance greater than the chemist down the road is “far.”

Must just be a stunningly unlikely coincidence. One in a million.

Fuck that, Sabine’s the one I’d rather have a beer with, if forced to pick just one. But in all honesty, I’d drink with pretty much any and/or all of them quite happily. Except the Stig, I do like a bit of conversation, after all.

First, I didn’t say “Can’t be a decent interviewer”, I said that I doubt he’d be as good as Clarkson, who has an almost uncanny knack for it, having seen him in action, in person. Sorry if I wasn’t terribly clear.

I dunno. Occams razor, which is more likely - that they secretly made up and spread fake rumors on purpose, and nobody ever heard about it except those involved despite people in the media generally being thoroughly throughout everyone else’s business and gossiping like old washerwomen at every opportunity, or that

I’ll agree on the interviewing part - Clarkson, for all his faults, was a pretty decent interviewer. While I’m holding judgement till I see it, I’ll be suprised if Chris can do the same.

That said, they might just have Matt, or both hosting that bit, or trade off, who knows?

“(Unless the whole thing has also been fabricated for publicity, in which case they were just setting up a narrative to do exactly that)”

Well, in your defense, I never said they were very good shows. Though the Australian version of Don’t Forget your Toothbrush was pretty good fun.

It’s almost as if it was made by 95% of the same people, and there was more to Top Gear than just the three presenters and Andy Wilman.

A lot of failed TV productions? Only two of them really failed, TV Mayhem(due to licencing issues, IIRC) and OFI sunday(Which richly deserved it, because it was derivative crap). Most of his radio stuff has been successful too, at least after his rise during the early 90s.

Marriages, though, yeah, let’s not.

I dunno. On one hand, I loved the old universe, and still do. It was broad, deep, and had plenty going on, lots of stories to tell, it was consistent, you had a sense across most of the properties of cohesion and connectedness, as stories across a shared universe should.
