They never forget... to glow!

I dunno, I might actually watch this... or at least give it a shot.

There is a company which has the media rights—they are putting out the Tales of Honor comic series, in which they are translating Basilisk Station in order to eventually skip straight to Honor of the Queen for the film... or so they say.

These are among my favorite books of all time, but I just can’t see them in another medium. The set pieces and tones are too varied to keep an audience, and the casting would have to be pitch-perfect for the dialogue not to fall completely flat. I just... don’t see it working, somehow.

Hrm... my first thought was Gina Torres, but again, that would work for “current” Queen Elizabeth, but not really Honor of the Queen Elizabeth. I’m only pulling her name out of my head because of Star Wars, but somebody like Lupita Nyong’o?

One problem—Queen Elizabeth III of Manticore, as described in the novels, is rather young and looks a lot more like Gina Torres.

I love this rising tide of independent animated short films. Love it, love it. =)

Haha, sorry! That’s 8 hour eating window/16 hour fast/5 days a week =)

I followed an 8/16/5 for several months, and recently decided to try switching back. One of the major things I’ve noticed was that on the IF protocol, I did in fact lose some weight, but plateaued about 10 lbs down and wouldn’t budge, even with increased activity. My energy levels started to flag, and I started

I entirely agree—my point, which was indeed a bit muddled, was that B&B stuck around WAY too long, and so Enterprise wasn’t able to recover until it was too late.

This was one of my favorites as a kid. I’m actually surprised it wasn’t what turned me into a genuine Sherlock Holmes fan... shamefully, it took Freeman & Cumberbatch to get me to actually go and Gutenberg the entire Holmes library, but I’m caught up now, I swear! =)

Yeah, that would have saved us from three seasons of utter dreck... well, probably anyway. I’m no fan of Abrams-Trek, but it’s sad that Enterprise didn’t even think about getting good until Brannon&Braga finally left, and it was too late for Archer & Co.

Sorry, I can’t hear you over the sound of Mirror Universe Hoshi being a total badass. =)

Yeah, when she turned summer into deep winter, y’know, ‘accidentally’, I remarked to my wife “Wow, she is literally the most powerful magic-user in the history of fantasy, EVER.”

Epic. I nearly lost my coffee.

Yeah, it was particularly effective in London, since the Tube goes everywhere and is everything. Miss a stop? No problem. You can connect back to your stop at any of the next three, or just get off and walk a quarter mile. Plus, the DLR in East London (where I was most of the time, since I was staying in an East

I used the off-site hotel, no credit card fee and unlocked phone/PAYG-SIM tips when I went to Ireland and the UK for 10 days last year, and saved a bunch. I also stuck to public transport (trains, tube, etc) and Wi-Fi, and only checked a bag on the way back (but Aer Lingus lets you check one for free anyway).

I love the critter and monster design! =) That was a fun watch.

“Please don’t tell my boss I was sleeping!”

Ever since I read it, the hypothetical explanation for the NDE floated by Connie Willis in Passage makes the most sense to me. Anyone with more than a passing interest (ha-ha) really ought to read this book.
