Well, what fun is it if we don't take it to extremes? =)

I've read a bunch of it, and a lot of the 40k mythology stuff is very good. I whole-heartedly recommend just about anything branded Warhammer 40k and written by Dan Abnett. Graham McNeill is also very good.

To a certain extent, it already is. A whole series, in fact.

Wow, they're not even going to release their source code and let some enterprising FOSS team continue the project? Just taking their ball and going home? That makes it even more sad.

Is there any talk of Winamp releasing their source code so that some FOSS project can continue keeping it alive, or are they just gonna take

I only recently discovered Mr. Lehrer's work thanks to Pandora. He is just so devastatingly smart. I feel smarter just by listening to him.

This is very interesting. As the kind of person who hates those sort of engagements, I will have to try this the next time I get dragged into one. Thank you.

We're on a bridge, Charlie!

Yes, you absolutely should. =)

I didn't even need to click 'Play' to know exactly what Fletcher is about to scream into that phone =)

Oh good, another application which get you slapped on an NSA watchlist simply for downloading. =)

Cool, thanks for the info! It's some really nice rotoscoping work, I'm impressed by it!

Yeah, I totally understand. I really lucked into the main group I have now, and the other wouldn't exist at all except for the wonderfulness which is Roll20 (an online system for tabletop RPG gaming). It can be very difficult to find a good group to get together—my limited experiences playing in more public venues

Cool! I just wasn't sure if the definitions had changed while I wasn't looking. They have a funny way of doing that... =)

Genuinely curious: I thought machinima was defined as storytelling/filmmaking within a real-time graphics engine like Quake or Aurora or Unreal. This appears to be just plain animation, not that it is by any means not awesome.

A lot of it really depends on the group. Given a bunch of people who are all in it for a real adventure and storytelling, it can be amazing amounts of fun. My main group is a bunch of guys all around 40-ish (I'm 28) who have been playing these games for decades. My secondary group is a 4-person made up of me, my wife,

I'm right there with you. I'm married to an Aspie as well, and she has a lot of trouble with sudden noise (particularly high-pitched ones), gets disoriented in places with more than a dozen people, and has a lot of trouble with any kind of social engagement that lasts more than a couple of hours or so. Her stress

I just checked, and my local library has a license according to the site. Looks like it's time to go get a library card!

Wunderbar! Ich kanns kaum erwarten! =)

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait. Infinite chocolate?
