When/if they add German to their lineup, I will have to see if any of the libraries in my state have access at that point. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it, though. What a cool idea =)

I second this question. We already use a string of bells for the inside, but right now when she wants to come in my 160-lb Newfoundland likes to scratch at the outside door, which is rather difficult on the door.

I always felt that Sarah Kerrigan had more in common with Sylvanas Windrunner, TBH. Like, that they were basically the same person.

I would add the caveat that while these things might work for mainstream literature, you need to be aware of the conventions of your genre.

Personally, I think a new space opera series (whether Mass Effect-based or something new) is the perfect opportunity to try the waters with a fully-CGI adult (not THAT kind of adult) television show. No more of this live-action-actors-on-greenscreen-with-CGI-characters (phew) crap. Go whole hog, hire some guys from

If this only aired on HBO (or something) I would subscribe to BOTH cable AND HBO in order to watch it week to week, but only if they get Brandon to do the voicework.

Oh yeah. I'll never forget them, and if it starts bugging me again I won't hesitate to get some help.

You're not alone. All it takes is something really stressful, even if you're not aware of it (in my case, trying to buy a house) and suddenly it's not so trivial anymore.

When I was in the process of buying a house in 2011, I had three panic attacks. The first time I actually called a friend who had experienced a heart attack and described my symptoms, because I thought I might be on the verge of dying. The panic was defused when the friend told me that none of my symptoms sounded like

Yup, you're right.

He's my favorite Renfield too =)

This book has a fake-out on the level of A Game of Thrones. One of the best twists I've ever read.

Uh, except, for those of us who don't read the BBC all day, we probably would have missed something like this. Just sayin'.

Yeah, the Riker alien abduction one was definitely pretty freaky... especially given how young I was at the time.

You rang?

I nearly choked on my coffee. Well played.

Exploring how AI might see the world is one of my writing fascinations. Trying to determine a voice and create a sympathetic character for a limited, self-aware AI is very difficult, but I think it's possible. =) I'm going to have to check out your book!

I had this exact same argument on Reddit the other day, when this got posted to /r/fantasy. It... did not go well.

It is pretty funny, but what's amazing to a layman is often not what's amazing to a specialist in the field.

That's how I felt about Tangled too. (Disclaimer: I have a little sister.) It wasn't half bad, but it honestly could have done without the half-hearted musical inserts. Either make it a full-on musical or just leave it out, guys.
