By that logic, we might as well destroy the ecosystem because we can.

It’s about scale. Meat consumption contributes to climate change, but not nearly as much as, for example, rich people flying private jets. So yes, we should be taking way more money away from rich people and giving it to everyone else.
Except when you do that, it just means that poor folks can’t afford any meat (or can afford it on your “infrequent treat” basis) while rich fucks can have a Porterhouse for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The response to any conservative should be, “I hear ya buddy. But if some rich New York asshole wants to spend $315 and not get any meat, I might have to start a snobby restaurant too.”
The medallion system was working pretty well managing the supply of taxis to make sure that there was a balance between that supply and a driver’s ability to make money.
It’s ultimately a mechanical Turk, and an inefficient one at that.

It gets worse... part of that “road system” is other users. Not just other motorists, but cyclists, pedestrians, and little Timmy’s ball rolling out into the street.
How about "savants?"
Please fix the article title. It’s not accurate. Increasing wobble is a lot different than “knocking off its axis.”
I’m hoping the writers used the Trump experience as a warmup on how to deal with unfunny people who have no sense of humor about themselves.
Isn’t that what insurance is/isn’t that what taxes are?
Wheel alleles.
This is anti-car bullshit propaganda masquerading as history.
Aha, it’s already working!
Counterpoint to another post: driving should be much cheaper for poor people and much more expensive for rich people. We’ve taken it as read that poor people are more likely to be transit-dependent, which means they spend more of their lives transporting themselves rather than living their lives.
Yes, but remember that once you get past a point, it’s only poor people who are going to think twice about heading out for errands. We shouldn’t be using people’s incomes to ration mobility.
Right, got it, still agree. What I mean is, fossil fuel companies are acting in their best interest under the terrible, racist system they exist under. So we need to attack that system at its heart rather than treat the symptoms.
My ‘99 Sebring convertible and ‘11 GTI both disable the driver’s door lock button if the key is in the ignition.
I hear what you’re saying, but it’s the fossil fuel companies which are taking advantage of our economic system to oppress people because it’s profitable. Their actions aren’t racist - they’re capitalist. Profit at the expense of the others is the driving motivation for their actions.
