I loved the ending and the time jump, especially after most of the episode made me think that the Rick self-sacrifice that all the visions were setting up was going to be how he died.

Soylent Green’s The Walking Dead Stray Observations: Tonight, We Bid Adieu to Rick Grimes, or Grimey, as He Liked to be Called: Edition

I assume getting cast in a Star Wars film just comes free with your SAG card at this point.

I’d guess the reaction will be all over the board. It’s interesting that this will provide an ending for both show watchers and book readers. It’s going to be the conclusion of the story Martin originally set out to tell in one way or another, and there’s going to be immediate questions at the end of “How will this

Have a star. That’s a great point. Also : given all the zombies, who the hell is doing all the lawn maintenance in that show? I mean the residential areas have pristeen lawns. I look after mine but give it a week or two and it’s like Jurassic Park. Are there zombie yard services? Or veggie zombies that nom on the

I always though it’d be interesting for the show to deal with precautions when people sleep. People die in their sleep often enough, from heart attacks and other things, so what happens if the person you share a bed with suddenly dies, turns over and eats you? Would sleeping solo become the norm? Lock yourself loosely

I imagine there are a decent number of kids aged 6-13 who might be able to see a PG-13 movie but whose parents didn’t feel comfortable with a rated-R version. And a lot of them might be Deadpool fans.

I love everything about this. Everything.

Throwaway seasons, yes....but not lines!

I will bet you a replacement Castle Grayskull that they kill Judith just to carry out the trope that children born after the infection turn out to be immune.

Maggie grapples with the discovery that Oceanside felt they were allowed to kill the people

On the topic of Judith’s cough and not having her around after Lincoln’s departure...what if she develops a horrible cough and is going to die BUT Anne can cure her...but only if Rick goes on the helicopter.  So, Rick and Judith fly away, thus we don’t have to see Rick brutally killed and he can come back in the

To be fair, they had to change Dale’s plot (and that maybe spelled the end for Andrea given her arc in the comics) because the actor didn’t want to be on the show anymore.  The actor, Jeffrey DeMunn, is good friends with Frank Darabont, when Darabont was forced out, DeMunn said he wanted out too, so they killed him

I don’t watch this and have no plans to watch this, but I genuinely enjoy how much all of you enjoy it.

Yuuuup! The show has always had a loose approach to what it’s ‘about’, but it was clear that at the very base level, it was about a father shepherding his son into a new world.  The son died, and now they are killing off the father.  Not a lot of places to go from here where the audience is going to feel a connection.

Without Rick to bookend the story, and after killing off Carl last season, the show as a piece of mythology is pointless. It shows that the show isn’t actually about anything.

All this time and they still haven’t figured out the helicopter

Also, here come the alt-right sockpuppets. Have fun in the greys.

A longer response... I’ve not been a fan of Wendig’s writing style (not something that really affects his comics), but this is just... an absolutely shitty way to treat the guy. James Gunn’s firing emboldened the far right trolls, and this will make them feel like Disney will just cave into them when someone like Gunn

I wonder how many people won’t get this and wonder why Io9 is posting about an apartment.
