Glad you are highlighting the MP games. Great reads! Personally I kinda hated the bullet time in MP2. It just felt cartoonish to me whereas the first game felt PERFECT. It also kinda broke the fiction for me. In the first game you could kinda/maybe justify that Max had superhuman reaction times. The bullets and guns

Cool. This actually seems like a step towards fun for the NFL. Weird.

Wait is this allowed now? I haven’t watched football in years. I thought they couldn’t celebrate touchdowns or whatever.

Agreed. It is helpful and gives new viewers more information than just a yellow line. And yes, American football is insanely complicated.

Exactly. This is the best of both worlds. Let me see where the pitch landed within/without the strike zone, but don’t block other content. The way NESN does it is perfect.

I assume you will update your “12 best games” lists for Xbox One and Switch?

Yup. Demon’s Souls for me. Just wasn’t feeling it.

Wow I had this exact experience with FC3 as well! I sometimes just get to the point in a game where I’m like “F this, I’m going LOUD”. This also happened to me in Fallout 4. It feels SO cathartic after hours of trying to sneak around.

I’ve certainly played some games WAY after I actually stopped enjoying them, just out of obligation. Over the years I think I’ve gotten better at just letting it go. I also get stuck prioritizing games sometimes on how much I paid for them, which is often a mistake. Sometimes I end up playing the $3 steam sale game

I personally didn’t enjoy Rockstar’s story. Everybody is awful and there is nothing to feel good about in the end. I guess it fits the pattern of Rockstar games in that sense.

SPOT ON. Love the inclusion of the “trademark Rockstar mean spiritedness” point. Where the first 2 games always had a bit of fun with their narratives, MP3 just completely ratchets up the cynicism without really any of the levity. Pretty much everybody in MP3 is a total jerk and completely unlikable.

LOVE this game to this day. I still think the original actually has the best bullet time of the entire series. 2 was kind of wonky with it’s “everything is slow except Max” but 3 righted the ship back to the action of 1 more.

This guy should write a book on how to get ahead by plagiarizing. Has anybody read something like this that he could copy?

FYI if you go to the game launcher app on Galaxy phones it is right there at the bottom with an option to install. No need to go to their mobile site or whatever.

How do you know that I don’t just have a lot of friends? I hang out with Playstation, Xbox and PC friends as well. I promise! Haha. Also, I’m guessing I have more friends that enjoyed BotW on Switch than on the Wii U. Just pointing out that it can be enjoyed on both systems.

Thanks for your thoughts! I love the look of this game but I think I’m currently bogged down in too many metroidvanias to tackle it. For me personally I only like to tackle one at a time because otherwise my memory of the map gets all jumbled and I get frustrated.

I would love another Super Mario Maker.

All good points. There may be the potential buyers that like Zelda/Mario but are waiting for either a price drop or the next wave of games before they jump in. Also, anecdotally I have several friends who were perfectly happy playing BotW on their Wii U.

Yeah my favorite 3D mario is still Galaxy. Wouldn’t mind seeing a 1080p remake of those games.

I think Sony is probably done in the hand held space. Vita didn’t do nearly what the PSP did and they haven’t supported the Vita with 1st party for a year now. I also agree that Nintendo needs to keep introducing new IPs, maybe even more adult-focused ones like Uncharted in the T rated range. Would LOVE a new 2D
