Check out Outerra Anteworld. Thats was done by two people. 1 to 1 scale Earth. It takes all of the land elevation data from Google Maps and applied a procedural content generation algorithm over it. You get detail down to the rocks on the ground all the way out to orbit. Punch in a gps coordinate on the planet…
"All but insulted the audience?" They DID insult the audience. Directly. Multiple times. The entire show was itself an enormous affront to the entire industry and everything wrong with it.
I used to work at a game studio in Japan, then one in Europe.
Meetings.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the only thing good that came out of VGX this year.
It should be Ni no Kuni, so I'll put faith in the judges and guess that.
Yep... totally chopped liver.
Just at a barebones physics level it's stupid.
Suction cups rely on creating an area of low pressure. This is done by pushing down (expelling air from the cup), and then when it reforms it's shape naturally, it creates a hard seal where the natural tendency of the suction cup to expand is offset by the pressure…
This is generally what happens when you design your OS around a worthless accessory like Kinect. They deserve every single complaint they've gotten and then some.

In this it just gives you some money but not enough to buy the cars you could have won in the older games. That leads to needless grinding or coughing up more cash. If you have played Real Racing you would…
What about us poor bastards who haven't been able to get there hands on an Xbox One yet? And have very little likeliness of getting one soon as they sell out within 1.5 seconds of hitting store shelves? And I agree, why am I paying $60 if I have to pay for everything once I get the game. I'm fine with paying for big…
So wait a minute, they aren't actually changing anything? Just giving some timed events and bonuses? Really?
This sort of shit should only appear in Free-to-Play games.
If I'm paying $60 for a game, the only "transactions" I want to see are giant expansion packs or map packs. This nonsense reeks of Diablo 3 RMAH. I don't want an ever-changing marketplace where things are nerfed/buffed on the fly depending on if fans are unhappy.
