Your description of what your friend did to his T/A justifies the high price for this one. Most 2nd gen T/A's were modded to shit. It's rare to find an unmodded one like this.
While I'm not a fan of the 301 boat-anchor engines, this WAS the hottest engine you could get in a Trans Am at the time. Relative rarity, collectability and that sweet hoot-mounted lighted turbo boost indicator makes this a nice price!
