Some of the more sophisticated kits had lights for the relocated license plates, but nearly all prematurely became cloudy and faded due to poor build quality. My friend's '81 280ZX suffered the same fate.
Yeah- those inserts almost always got prematurely cloudy and faced, and don't get me started on the double wiper trend, which appears never to have gone away
Those tail light inserts are an interesting early 80's aftermarket trend. Some of the more sophisticated kits even had license plate lighting for the relocated license plates. The problem on almost all of them is that they weren't as high-quality as the factory taillights, and they quickly faded and became cloudy.
This is nice price in every way! Bonus for the early 80's styling- the Kamei rear spoiler and "Volvo" taillight insert really add to that 80’s flavor. All it needs is a Monza exhaust tip and wiper wings to complete the ensemble.
My poor clueless wife saw some cars in oncoming traffic flash their high-beams at her (during daytime), warning her of a speed trap.
