i think you could build the 90% version of that car for around 20, which for a swapped E30 put into a pristine drivetrain, is not that bad.

their size and what they offer, are enough that i never use them. i never buy gas on them, i would rather run out finding a station off highway. I only ever fuel up on NJTP if gas is trending upwards in price as the TP stations are limited to price changes once a week, so you can get a deal. 

Two things. 1, NJ does have real rest stops on the turnpike, parkway, and AC expressway. 2, Almost all of them on the turnpike are being remodeled. i live in NJ, so dont use them often, but it is no where near as bad as people on here will make you believe.
