But when someone is constantly interrupting your stories/conversations or acting a fool so everyone will look at them, it IS pathetic, and it's rude.

Amen honey. Amen.

I really appreciate this, especially in light of another comment thread that starts out with "I lost weight and now all I have are measly B's!" I completely understand that a lot of work needs to be done for our society to accept female body types that don't fall into what Hollywood deems acceptable but I don't

True, the stigma is unfair. There are plenty of people who had parenthood accidentally thrust upon them and make major positive life changes to become great parents. Ideally though, your first impetus for becoming more responsible and making better decisions shouldn't be bringing another life into the world, IMO.

Exactly. I loved Dr. Faye. She deserved better. It would be amazing for her to return to the show in some capacity and show Don up (much as Peggy has started to do).

THIS. I remember having a bunch of British friends that were like, "Aw! So cute how all you Americans are so excited about the royal wedding!" And I was like, "In actuality... we don't care that much. Don't let the media fool you."

I feel like all those pieces of advice were facetious.

This. I had that same thought when I read that line.

Waaaahhhhhhhhh?!! Please tell me that's not an actual lyric.

I'm telling you. The more I read of his writing, the sadder I get.

That's really beautiful. Getting a bit misty eyed now!

Truth. The more I read about weddings, the more I'm convinced that when/if the time comes, my boyfriend and I are going down to the courthouse and then just having a party after.

You raise an interesting point when you say that young people risk wasting years of their lives living with someone who is unwilling to make a commitment. I believe this has less to do with the act of cohabiting, and more to do with a lack of communication and establishment of clear expectations within individual

Amen to this. I had a similar issue when I was 10-13, and if I had a nickel for every time someone snidely asked me if I was anorexic during that time, I'd be extremely wealthy. Body shaming is NEVER ok, no matter your size or shape, and I get really irritated as well when people try to claim that shaming one body

Well, if Europeans buy into tabloid headlines and ridiculous conjured up "sex orgy gone wrong" plots instead of actual EVIDENCE, doesn't say a lot for them.

Thanks for this. I had entirely the same thought but you expressed it far more articulately than I could!

Yeah I get where you're coming from. I had the same thought when I read that line: really everyone? Are our attention spans that short? I get that maybe the New Yorker's style isn't for everyone, but I'd hope that as a culture we can still consume things that aren't reduced to a few one-liners and reactionary

LOL!

OMG YES!
