Got some serious Vampire Weekend vibes watching that video

There’s really no point in building an i8 competitor.

It’s an interesting seating design, it has 3 rows but the middle two seats are configurable and can be turned around or removed. There are more pictures of the interior at C&D:

It’s not about the throttle it’s about the clutch...

To be perfectly honest, you wouldn’t want a manual trans in this car. That became painfully obvious with the last generation M5, the cars just aren’t designed for the manual box anymore and have too much power and torque for it to be an enjoyable experience driving one.

Super awkward haha it’s funny because the car looks so amazing when you roll up in it but then when you have to crawl out it kind of dampens the moment.

Yeah, I drove an i8 on track at BMW’s plant in South Carolina and it was pretty clear it’s just not a track car. It was faster than I expected and I imagine it would be really fun on a nice road but it just felt out of it’s element when it was pushed to the limit, especially compared to BMW’s M cars.

Why do you guys only cover the supra and not the BMW version of the car? You are frequently posting about this one but the only post I have seen on the site actually dedicated to the BMW is from a few years ago.

Vettel ftw

What do you mean read properly? You said “sprayed plastidip in the summer.” How does that imply anything other than this summer?

right well if you’ve done it in the summer it hasn’t been a full 6 months, I’m not about to pay that much money for something that might not last a full year but we will see

Anybody know how his plastidip stuff holds up to the elements? Watching them peel it off as one piece makes me think in freezing temperatures it would naturally contract and ruin the fit letting in moisture and air, only to have bubbles and stuff pop up everywhere once it gets warm outside again. Maybe this works in

Vettel never ceases to make me laugh

“It’s an interesting strategy to try and have at least 1 vehicle for everyone in the range.”

Yeah that’s definitely BMW’s goal there, they really want to have a car for every single type of luxury buyer. That’s why they are bringing in an X7 and possibly x8. The X5 is the biggest SAV they make and people still complain

You're right, Gawker has been horrible for a while now.

The changes aren’t really that confusing, there are a lot of models though. The funny thing is that with the 4 series gran coupe you are getting a four door version of a two door version of a four door car, and ironically that’s my favorite vehicle in the lineup.

You said it exactly, the current 6 series is most of the way to a hypothetical 8 series anyways. Based on the current BMW trend they would probably have the 6 just be a coupe version of the 5 and not some really big luxury GT car. They can bring in the 8 based on the 7, and then scale down the 6 a bit to be much more

There’s no chance that BMW is killing off the 6 series entirely, if they do introduce the 8 series they are definitely going to be changing up the 6 series in response. The 8 series will obviously be similar to what the current 6 series is but with more of a focus on comfort like the 7 series has and a higher price

The Porsche is faster to 60 and is obviously faster past that mark, what makes you think it would lose a drag race of any length to a tesla?

Unlike some companies that have to wait for a death or two to occur before they do anything *cough* GM *cough*
