I use a Sharpie to mark the length of my extension cords on the "head." Most of my extension cords are white, so any color will work. Saves hassle when I'm looking for a cord that's the right length for the job.

My 12-year-old made a green screen from solid-color gift wrapping paper that I got from Target. She just taped it to the wall. Not portable, but great results for under $10.
I use Chrome and like it a lot, but it seems odd that when you try to search for a specific extension on Google's own extension page, it can't always find it.
I've been sitting on a ball for several years. I, too, hoped it would "strengthen my core." It probably did, and my back hurts less. However, I did not magically drop any weight. I do have a six-pack under my fat, though. Honest.
@capitalsown: I always hated carry-on luggage. Such a hassle to shove it into the overhead, and fight for space. I figured, I'll check mine and not contribute to the madness. But now? Now that almost every airline charges for checked bags? Fine. They are basically encouraging carry-on baggage by charging us to check…
@Terry: Depending on the phone and your computer, BitPim may work. It's open source software, free, so worth a try. [sourceforge.net]
@ahbi: I have this too... I LOVE it.
Google didn't really promote Wave enough. People didn't "get" it... what was new or different about it? What did it do better than other things? What problem would it solve for ME? It was their job to do that, not Lifehacker's, or anyone else's. And they didn't do that.
Got anything for bill reminders other than credit cards? I would like some set & forget reminders for utility bills. I don't want to go on autopay and just have them take the money out of my account, and that's the only option most utility bills offer.
@Miral007: I wondered the same thing. You're right, it's celsius.
@trasko: Just keep an eye on what's up there. My ex-husb put a shelf above the garage door, and the vibration from the door opening and closing eventually caused our glass aquarium to fall off the shelf and crash into the trunk of the car. Of course, he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer or he would have put a…
I figure it this way: we all have a certain amount of crap in store for us. If you get a whole bunch of crap at one time, then you're most likely done for a while.
Dang! I clicked the linky thinking this was an article about caffeine, the substance that is the source of all alertness!
I used to throw all my receipts into a shoebox, figuring that they were in date order, and I could usually find what I wanted when I dug through it.
Regarding shaving cream substitutes: I don't require foam, so I often use shampoo or conditioner when shaving my legs. Either one works.

My favorite recycling: Freecycle! We were discussing renting a truck to get rid of the unwanted things at our house. And then paying dump fees. Instead I found people on Freecycle who were willing to come pick up a non-working tv, a rusty old treadmill, a bunch of cans that originally held popcorn, an old ink-jet…
@akarpens: I bet [Instructables.com] would have some projects.
@kschang: PocketMod FTW! I keep track of spending on mine. A page for gas spending, a page for other things.
@papayalily: It's not under the vase. It's on top. The fake flowers are placed on the electronics.
