I agree. They probably know it's something bad but they don't really have the comprehension to understand why playing at it is so bad.

I've heard of other schools doing this due to the extent to which schoolgirl skirts have become fetishized by creepers..see: the picture above.

Well a lot of people do keep clothes with sentimental meaning, like wedding or prom gowns, but not because they expect to put them on and go out on the town one night.

Sad Cypress. I'm ashamed that I'm so familiar with that book.

And it seems like an on-the-ball advice columnist could have pointed that out, and said, "Why exactly do YOU need clarification here? Are you the prosecuting attorney deciding whether or not to take the case?" Instead she used it as an opportunity to screech about the evils of drink some more. Maybe she should change

I don't really understand the purpose of this woman even writing this letter. Did she witness the events on that night that she can make a determination about whether or not it was rape? Why can't she just let the friend work out her own business as she sees fit?

This totally happened in an Agatha Christie book and then the poor girl was murdered to boot by her aunt that she didn't know was her aunt in order to get her hands on some money that her wealthy benefactor had willed to her. Ladies, don't get an education. Just marry the butcher's boy.

Whether or not it's standard practice, it's horrifyingly irresponsible to tell her to do it when she and the possible thief are alone in the store.

As a therapist I've had clients who have drunk the Landmark kool-aid and it's incredibly, hair-pullingly difficult to work with them on some sort of reality based level when they want to talk about creating possibilities and all that crap.

Between this and the comments on the other article about how white women who go to school in New Orleans "know what they're getting into" and can't complain about getting raped, I'm wondering WTF is going on on this site lately.

Thank you. And also the little dig in there at the end about her mother. That's textbook abusive non-custodial dad douchebaggery.

While I know that potential employers do google people, I have a hard time believing that they would care that he had a couple of disgruntled ex-girlfriends. If he was being accused of rape, murder, sex trafficking, etc, that I could see costing him a job. But just being a cad?

Right. This is just a gussied-up version of that "Stars Without Makeup!" thing that the tabloids do where we're supposed to get a cheap thrill out of seeing celebrities taken down a peg. Um, Joan is 78 and would be the first to admit that she's no beauty. Leave her alone.

The ONLY thing that might seem like a legitimate reason to go back would be if being convicted in absentia would mean that they couldn't travel to any EU countries. I have no idea if that would be the case. I mean, Switzerland eventually declined to extradite Roman Polanski and he continues to skip happily around

What the hell is the point of them going back there? Do they think the US is going to extradite them for slander?

It's a lovely dress! I'm sure she'll find it useful for parties! / Scarlett

If truck stop prostitutes can afford Uggs, it might be a line of work to look into.

They call it teamwork, I call it groupthink.

My favorite thing about Caitlin Flanagan is the excerpt I read from her book about "leaving it all behind" and staying home to take care of your children, where she talks about her child vomiting and Caitlin standing in the doorway and looking encouraging while Paloma the Nanny cleaned it all up.

There was a time when I assumed that Natalee's death was unintentional but it seems like too much of a coincidence now. I wonder if he's killed other women that just weren't missed or were written off as "missing."
