I just don't know that a narcissistic sociopath is going to be deterred by a law like this. There aren't that many Casey Anthony types you meet in everyday life and thank God for that. OTOH I can kind of get behind increasing the penalties for lying to the police about a missing child.

You're right. Meredith Kercher was a nice girl and her family is terribly grieved so that's good and sufficent reason to convict someone on crap evidence and everyone in the US should stop paying any attention to this case.
