oh great, a 13 year old says stuff about voting, people love it.

I feel weird that I'm so worked up about this, but I really wish celebs would own their plastic surgery.

I stopped reading this when you said that your favorite Hanson brother was Isaac. Isaac?! Are you fucking serious Mark?? Everyone knows the hotness order was Taylor, Zack, then Isaac. I feel like I don't even know you any more.

It is remarkable to me how quickly they come. They must have alerts set up on her name so they can show up and be childish. I'm so fucking sick of reading their bullshit. Video games. They're threatening to murder people over video games. Jesus Christ. Go volunteer, go see people with ACTUAL problems.

Really super excited for the trolls that plan on showing up and spouting nonsense about how she's "making this up" and "playing the victim".

Okay, seriously. What in the actual fuck, folks?

I teach English at the college level; last year, I was privileged to teach ENG 230, which at my institution is a rotating (through the faculty) course that is generously labeled "Special Topics in Literature."

I taught my course, for two semesters, as "Gaming: Literary

LOL, they're gonna get a lot of pictures of my pets and the weird close-up shots of half-full beer glasses I take when I'm drunk. Good luck, marketers!

Very much agree, but wondering about point 2 and something like PTSD. Can't people experience trauma, not know how/be able to emotionally process it, and deal with resulting feelings of anxiety/depression/etc.? (This is not to disagree with you, just trying to understand where trauma can fit into someone's emotional

I find it odd she said this stuff happened as a child yet she was going to try and record him on her cell phone? She's right about my age and cell phones didn't even have cameras or recording devices that I can remember until I was about 17. Not saying it didn't happen.. but it doesn't sound right.

No, I think you're right— her problem is that she reminds us of somebody we know and just don't like. There must be a lot of those people out there.

She's not actually saying that it's always an act when women happen to have interests and qualities that are traditionally masculine, though, or that a woman can't actually like those things and be hot. It's about the pressure on women to behave in certain ways that are really about shitting all over traditional

with several of Hollywood's most awesome women: Amy Ryan, Naomi Watts, Andrea Riseborough, Zach Galifianakis, and Merritt Wever, among others.

Yeah, I think it's a phase a lot of women go through. I was totally a Cool Girl in high school. I thought that because I like football, video games, comics, and prefer whiskey to vodka I was different from the OTHER girls. I thought I could only get along with my select fellow Cool Girl friends as far as women went

That's another point that I was thinking about but neglected to mention. Thank you for saying it. It's too bad that it's true, though.

THANK YOU!!! I'm not into her work either but I really can't understand the amount of shit she gets...(valid) criticism of a show is one thing, but often the criticism I hear seems to be about Dunham as a person.

I'd share my last chocolate chip cookie with you for this post.

Crimes need to be proven in order to be tried and sentenced. Just because it was never prosecuted doesn't mean it wasn't rape. I don't know the whole story, but I'm pretty sure a person knows if they didn't want sex. That makes it rape regardless of its status in the court system.

not caring how they're done and not knowing multiple ways TO COOK EGGS are completely different.

Not going to lie, my holdover from my teenage Pagan phase is that I believe that the veil between the worlds of the living and dead it at its thinnest on Samhain (Halloween)....to the point that I insisted Mr. BallofStress and I have our wedding on Oct. 31st so that our deceased family members could 'attend'. So,

I dislike Lena Dunham as much as the next person, but can we please have the courtesy to believe her story and sympathize?
