These look like Lisa Frank designed them. (Not an insult, just an observation.) I think its the colours and sparkles and shading. My favourite is still this, sorry.

There's also a rotating character list. They rotate daily so you have the chance to try all the characters before you pay a cent. The review fails to mention this key feature, and justifies the F2P method they chose.
