Easily best advice is to read reviews on the TV. If you can’t find reviews on that TV then that might be a red flag. If it mentions HDR 1000 (or HDR10), then it probably has proper HDR. Also if it has the UHD premium logo shown below, it’s likely good, only TVs that meet proper HDR specs can show that logo. If it says

If those exist. Most (all?) HDR TVs are 4k, mainly because it’s getting cheaper to make 4k screens but good HDR is still expensive, and there’s not a huge market for HDR 1080p.

Yes it is. I was in the exact same boat as you. Bough a LG 4k tv in 2015 for $500 which was a decent deal, then in 2016 we got the PS4 Pro and XB1S and suddenly HDR was a big deal. I got obsessed and spent 1k on a Samsung KS8000 with HDR in 2016. No regrets on that last purchase, HDR movies and gaming is fantastic. I

Might be preference, but also double-check that the tv is calibrated correctly for HDR gaming. Depending on the tv, some recommend a higher brightness for gaming compared to TV/movies, some games will also show more improvement with HDR than others.

I have the ks8000 and it does have pretty good HDR. I also have mine calibrated based on guides I saw online. Note that not every game will look insanely better with HDR, I’ve seen some games improve more than others. You should be able to turn off HDR in the TV settings (I think on ks8000 it’s called UHD deep color

If it has this logo then it should be good. That logo ensures that it meets the standards set by the UHD Alliance for “True” HDR.

I keep telling people looking for new TVs to get one with good HDR instead of just focusing on the 4K feature. Seeing things in 4k vs 1080p can be a marginal improvement, HDR vs standard is often night and day.

Even if you don’t like the game, the wheel can be used for other racers.

Well Thrustmaster always makes good stuff so with no knowledge about this product I’d say it’s a safe bet that it’s strong in those areas.

No racing wheel that I’ve looked at recently has a stick-shifter. It’s an optional accessory which you can use with this if you already own one from Thrustmaster.

Now playing

Unrelated to the story, the new gameplay trailer looks pretty sick. Hope Capcom can nail the launch this time around.

Almost guaranteed that’s not an option.

Because the whole point of their art style is to not realize it’s 3D at first glance.

When Eddy Gordo isn’t winning tournaments.

That’s Smash though, their community is especially entitled.

Worth noting that at the moment the online functionality is largely broken on consoles (or at least PS4). Ranked doesn’t work at all, player matches only work in lobbies, and tournaments sometimes work.

Not really. Some of his combos and particularly the use of Focus attacks and dash cancels are exclusive to SFIV.

Also Akuma, at least if you’re coming from Street Fighter. He plays very similarly to his SF4 iteration.

The phone includes a 3.5mm to lightning adapter when you purchase it. It’s normally an inconvenience but fits in fine with the mess of dongles and cables required for Splatoon.
