It's both. He's keeping distance because he's low health but he's also baiting the super. The super comes out so fast that you have to start parrying before the super activates, not after, so it's impossible to parry on reaction, you have to predict it.

I would say if any game is regarded as worse than Zelda II, it's Skyward Sword. I don't think the game is overrated, I think it's kinda bad. At the same time, the worst Zelda game is still a good game overall.
