Our’14/’15s will only see a software fix (rightfully so, though the design in the first place was flawed). Jeep will likely end up doing some half-ass promotion catering to the bad taste owners have in their mouths and maybe a better direct trade in promotion down the road for staying with Jeep. That, or a stupid

If anything, I wish I was able to turn off the daytime lights via the knob in my Grand Cherokee. Yes they look cool but I’d like to try and preserve their shelf life some times. You can only turn the setting off via the infotainment screen.

Love the write-up, now I have something to reference when catching up with my dad. He’s currently in a 2014 Bare bones E-class and refuses to give it back until the dealer can find a 2017 in blue. That’s its. Just needs to be Blue. . This is the same man that would custom order every car prior to this one, top engine,

Its a nice fix, but still doesn’t cover it was a lazily tested design in the first place. It would be interesting to have an article follow-up down the road as to the projected release of this fix and how the actors death may have accelerated it (no pun intended).

Were any people who signed up Jalopnik readers? Literally haven’t seen any material on this program since the first article. With all the basic millennial sites in my history and amount of cookies that follow me around on various sites one would this this might have popped up.

I cant count the times I have both the button and brake pedal down, push all the way forward and then get stuck in R or N. I’ve got the regiment down to always check but frankly shifting, especially and automatic, should be second nature.

What I don’t understand is how this electronic shifter made it to production with even the smallest chance of user error. If Jeep is stating none of their testers ever had an issue with it, I think there are deeper problems that need to be dealt with internally.

Not even, I'd like to find another vehicle on the market where its shifter is less intuitive, even the dial type ones in the Jags (and others) have more feed back to let the driver know what they are in. This is the first vehicle I

‘14 Owner here. - On the forums there seems to be a black/grey/white area to this issue which has been going on for a while.

How are the sightlines? When I sat in one at the NYIAS i got the feeling there were some solid blind spots.

These are terrible.

These are terrible.

Regardless of how many pieces, it would be cool to have one section go across the front seats, one across the rear/ cargo area and then have each cargo side and rear come off. Storage nightmare but its no worse than storing the "Freedom" top.

...“If given the chance, would you steal it again?”

Saw 3 3000GT’s the other day while traveling on rt 46 in NJ. It was like christmas.

Just covering my bases so no one yells at me.

Full disclosure - I think these are pretty sweet cars, I love what Elon is doing to the industry and Id like to have something - a tesla or a vehicle impacted by its design some day.

Imagine if constituents in a given geographic area were sent relevant push notifications about all voting related matters.

In my head: That street looks familiar.

I hear ya. Thats a fair point. Ive got a ‘14 Overland thats had some issues, and while they’ve been addressed, im still a bit slighted. Im in Northern NJ and I’m surrounded by dealers. Have had great times with one but cant always get an appointment.

If only. Part of my says ‘get one the minute you can justify more than one vehicle in the stable’ the other half of me is scared to buy anything from CJDR that’s > $50,000 cause their service experience is still awful.
