Are you saying that when FCA’s shifter gets put into park, it doesn’t go into Park? Having driven many of these from the rental fleet, I can assure you that when used properly, the shifter moves into park.

I’ve had a few rental Grand Cherokees and 300s. It takes a little while to get used to it. You’ve got to be at a 100% complete stop to shove it into park or the sensors don’t let you do it. It *BINGS* at you if it’s not successfully in park.
YOU’RE GOING DOWN WITH THE SHIP!
I agree that the shifter is unconventional and that is the issue. But that said, one should always understand how their vehicle operates before driving.
See reply above, but again, not FCA’s fault for including a safeguard for people who can’t read the owner manual or properly operate a motor vehicle.
Can’t say that for sure, but if you’re stupid enough to open your car door while moving OR make sure your vehicle is in park before opening your car door, then you shouldn’t own or operate a vehicle.
Agreed. But people are not properly taught how to operate a motor vehicle in this country anymore. Also, personal responsibility is dwindling. Everyone tries to find someone else, or some company as often the case, to blame.
Everyone knocks on this because it’s Chrysler, but the same shifter was first debuted on the Audi A8. But no recall there...
You all are doing quite the injustice... the title implicates that the transmission itself is the issue, when it’s the driver’s use of the shifter. #clickbait

Likely so, or they will use something obscure and outdated, like the 30-pin Apple connector with FireWire.
VW Battery Life will be much like smartphones: 280 miles per charge on battery*
He’s certainly not the Matt LeBlanc we all loved in Friends, but it could be because he’s been asked not to outdo Evan’s loud personality.
Get rid of him for season 2 with a long, Joey Tribbiani style apology from Matt LeBlanc.
I don’t get it. The Canadian Auto Workers want to keep plants open... by organizing a strike?
Holy crap.
Or is it too soon for this?
I’ll leave this right here.
DCX days? My brother’s WJ has a wonky BCM. My dad’s WJ just needed a rebuilt ECU. Both of those suck on WJs.
Bad TIPM? Everything runs through there these days.
