Well it sits comfortably between Space Dandy and Cowboy Bebop in terms of silliness. Some of the high drama of Bebop, but a lot of the lightheartedness of Dandy, though less heavy-handed. Still one of my favorite anime.

It's weird, because I just finished re-watching Samurai Champloo last week, and that show made me laugh a lot more than Space Dandy, but I still enjoy Space Dandy. Have you seen that? Did that make you laugh?

I'm glad this is the tone of the film. Had I known John C. Reilly and Peter Serafinowicz were involved, in addition to Chris Pratt, it would've been obvious. But I'm hoping this will be a pleasant surprise, and a nice deviation from the formula (albeit successful) that comic book movies have fallen into of late.
