I think you are right. I don’t think they need to be completely selfless people willing to die for a stranger without explanation, but their primary imperative can’t be “protect myself at all costs and justify it later” and they can’t walk into every situation assuming they are in danger either.  It’s a hard,

Sure- but the core of the issue is Cops needing to be reigned in when they fuck up, or the training they receive in the academy needs to be fixed.

I feel like, in this specific instance, this is less a black-thing and more jumpy cops that need to chill.

They know their audience, this should put them over the top. Forget that Austin has a great music and food scene, a quickly growing tech sector with a skilled and educated work force, throw that all out.

I believe pd’s hire white people who lack the ability to de-escalate period.  He ran a stop sign, let it go, no one died.  No, let’s call every cop in the county and draw weapons.

I have some fun messing with people who say “WAKE UP!” a lot by claiming it’s offensive to people with sleeping disorders, like narcolepsy and insomnia.

It’s spent, though. It’s literally incapable of causing harm unless you beat someone with it.

I mean at least you can carry the AT4 comfortably. The M2 is a pain in the ass to carry.

Haha! The M2 is made out of wood, and the AT4 is marked "Inert".

So this is more of a really douchy prank. Meanwhile, in Canada, a women dressed in a complete stormtrooper costume was thrown down because of a fake laser gun.  These guys deserved it way more.

Once in third grade, my father off-handedly mentioned that under the Constitution, we didn’t actually have to stand up and do the Pledge of Allegiance. So me being the third grade dink that I was, the next day I stayed seated for the Pledge at my local private school, and was promptly sent to the pastor and the

My theory is that a lot of people are scared by the idea that a virus this bad could just come out of nature and that it would only take a couple people bad at their jobs to make it momumentally worse, to them the idea that people are planning the whole thing is comforting. They already know people are evil and that

The conspiracy theory folks always fail when it comes to the DMV Test. How is it possible a worldwide conspiracy of millions of people could be kept under wraps when the Government is incapable of running the DMV properly? You can also use the post-office.

Sorry but Hornets are assholes. Even the regular ones. I personally am on my third can of spray this year. If they stop building nests on my house and garage, I’ll stop decimating every nest I see. PS: Bees can have the run of the place.

I don’t understand how anybody could mistake a bumblebee for a hornet. At all. In any way, shape or form.

You should definitely kill yellow jackets, those things are evil

It would help if you, oh I don’t know, posted an actual picture of the murder hornets in your 2 articles. Only showing the non-murder bees just cements their image into our brains when you say “murder hornet”.

You have posted by far the most sensible comments I have seen on the pandemic so far. I think the main problem we have now is that today’s society falls too easily for catchphrases like “flatten the curve” without thinking about what these things actually mean.

I’m generally with you and I think the OP is an idiot, but I do have a question about your numbers.  Is Sweden, with no lockdowns, actually doing better than the US, with lots of states locked down?  156 deaths per million in population would translate to 51,480 US deaths ... a number we will eclipse in a month or
