“general election” polls are dumb and meaningless.

As we have learned repeatedly, there is no such thing as a “popular vote” when it comes to who is elected president. There is an electoral vote. So it becomes VERY important to calculate how well each candidate is doing in each state, not the popular vote. If you

New Hampshire WAS Warren’s most important state to do well in. It was her hometown audience. She botched it by finishing 4th.

If Warren can’t finish in the top three in New Hampshire, she literally can’t win a primary anywhere else in the country.

She didn’t perform similarly to other candidates getting more press. She under-performed spectacularly. I mean not nearly as much of an under-performance as Biden, that one is going in the history books for a candidate not coming even close to meeting expectations.

But Elizabeth Warren finishing in 4th place in the New

It is almost certainly the Windows Firewall.

The one that you can’t see the files on has detected or been set to a “public” network when connected to Wifi (which if it is a wifi hotspot, and not an actual wifi router it is a good idea to leave the firewall on)

What an asshole. I mean at least he did it on a less used street, but any red on the map can cause a cascading affect of people switching to alternate routes to avoid the traffic jam, further compounding the jam.

I know it doesn’t work well. I commute via ferry, and I ride a motorcycle allowing me to bypass the line that goes for a mile or so. There is a major road that has plenty of traffic going at the speed limit, but the cars in line on the shoulder show up as a traffic jam every day.

First off, I used that as an example of a LONG trip between fishing grounds and the home port. Alaska to Seattle is a long boat ride.

And you are right, Washington State is not the epicenter of commercial fishing in the United states. That role goes to ALASKA where the fish that come into Seattle are actually caught.

Having bought fish straight off of a fishing trawler at the dock, I can assure you you are full of shit. I live in Seattle and a lot of the fishing boats that fish Alaska actually dock in Seattle (it makes for fresher fish deliveries to the lower US if you aren’t barging it out of Alaska). They have chillers, but they

Meh, Harleys are just overpriced low tech, unreliable bikes.

They sure do look pretty though.

I ride on a ferry where riding a motorcycle is seriously incentivized. It can save you an hour a day easily to ride a bike.

When I first started it was largely the wealthier guys who picked Harleys. Nowadays though, there are

No, remember you do have a phone, so you have a redundant boarding pass in your pocket. You do know you can have an electronic boarding pass on your phone at the same time as you have a paper one in your pocket? In fact it kind of happens automatically usually if you use the airline app to check in.

If you lose your

I had a watch face on Android Wear years ago that did this. Only it showed your current location.

See, you have it all wrong. YOu should hope I am your IT guy. I am very good at what I do, and how I do it. I don’t trust single points of failure.

A System’s Engineer’s job is to take a bunch of Rube Goldberg machines, make them work together, make them redundant and make them reliable.

My systems don’t have many

But phones aren’t reliable. They have glass screens, short battery life, are prone or all sorts of nonsense.

Maybe it is because I am an experienced IT guy, but I don’t use electronic boarding pass. Too unreliable by far, and the ability to print a boarding pass at a kiosk only takes 30 seconds or so, and is just easier and faster in every way.

Also another tip, if you have a passport, use that as ID. TSA and Airline agents

Do you really go to airports? The line to board the plane is throttled by how fast they can scan people. Literally shaving 1 second off of each scan makes the plane board almost two minutes faster. ANd on a tight connection two minutes count.

As for kiosks being bogged down by too many people. I print my boarding pass

Nonsense. Even having your phone hang for 1 second while the app loads is a technical difficulty that just slows everyone down in line. Printed boarding passes are a breeze.

I like the idea of the envelope. But instead of relying on paper, why not an a launcher that will turn off the smart parts of the smart phone.
