In the same article you claim they built a custom car with flared fenders and aerodynamics? How can they both be cheating by going to great lengths to customize a car, but also be fools for going in unprepared?

Could it possibly be that they had been prepping at a run at the Ring for a while now, and that the Taycan

And if they could send it in driverless, they’d shed 200lbs of driver and safety gear.

You win the most historically ignorant comment of the day. The 1st ten amendments to the Constitution were ratified with the original constitution. There was never a time when the 2nd amendment didn’t apply to the constitution. So it is every bit as locked in and unchangeable as any other part of the constitution.

That

How many innocent deaths am I ok with? As long as the amount of innocent deaths is fewer than the amount of innocent deaths that would happen if the US fell into being a total regime. I mean hell, we are already killing a lot of innocents with our militarized police and our drone strikes. I can’t imagine a government

Nonsense. It wasn’t always understood to just be militia. Just in the past 30 years or so have state and city governments started interpreting it that way in order to pass more restrictive gun laws, and only then did it go to the supreme court and the Heller decision was made.

If you go back and read the Federalist

Every sick day? I literally have 12 weeks of accrued sick pay that I haven't taken. I couldn't imagine taking that many sick days.

I get a total of 29 vacation days a year. 5 are for a week that the whole office is closed every year, so I still count it as vacation time.

This is the market in action. You can’t make China or Russia the bad guys anymore. There are too many potential viewers in those countries. So you intentionally have to pick a country that poses no real threat, but only threat in ideology. Oh and those people have to not have access to pay for watchign streaming

I have a 15 mile commute that takes me 1.5 hrs.

Of course I drive to a Park and Ride, catch a shuttle bus to a ferry terminal, take a ferry to an island, transfer to another ferry that takes me into the city, and then I walk 1.5 miles to my office.

I’d still rather do that than 45 minutes in bumper to bumper traffic

Well, not having side mirrors is illegal in the US. So that is one thing.

Mine took FOREVER to boot after the update. Like 30 minutes.

But ever since it has been running wonderfully and my battery life is better.

But why use nearly 20 year old, difficult to use hardware (SCSI is a pain in the ass in modern systems, so you have to commit to PCIx and then you are stuck with slow CPUs and less memory)?

In the end, if you are gonna scrap crap together for free, you still use more modern crap than this. Way more modern. By like 10

Now playing

Here, watch this video of two absolute morons (morons because they try and use water to put out a petroleum fire) playing with lighter fluid with a bottle with a much wider opening. They have to burn the outside of the bottle to the point that it shrinks and starts pouring fluid out into a fire, yet it still doesn’t

That is super common on difficult and proprietary systems. They are difficult to super expensive to upgrade (less about the price of hardware than the price of the labor and newer software licensing that runs on modern hardware) and the company is dependent on them. This thing was a simple website. Why run on ancient

a 146GB 2.5 inch SAS drive is still totally a viable drive. They still sell em. Not even close to the same thing as a sub 100 GB 3.5" SCSI drive from 2001

I work for a company that runs ancient hardware at times. Most of it is 6 or 7 years old, but some stuff 10 years old. We donate a lot of old gear to non-profits. The stuff we donate to non-profits is still a hell of a lot newer and more usable than this garbage. These are drives you’d find at goodwill for $1 because

Yeah but I’d be willing to bet that most the stuff you see on ancient hardware are vertical market apps and systems that the IT folks are “afraid to touch” because they don’t know how to get it working on something newer. This was a simple website. There is no reason to keep it on ancient scsi drives.

Plus I doubt the

At some point old equipment costs you more to run than just buying some low end newer stuff.

Thety aren’t just old. They are ancient and slow and use difficult to manage and find adapters. Trust me even a cheap ass company isn’t using ancient Enterprise SCSI drives

Yeah. NOBODY is gonna use a 15 year old SCSI drive for that. It would be more of a pain in the ass than it is worth.
