I’d more or less agree with this on the whole. The puzzles were really stupid and the gameplay ground 2 or 3 ok ideas into the ground. It was too long, too. The game should have ended with Winter, instead of letting you walk through an epilogue with no interesting gameplay to speak of. I don’t know how this became a

i half expected you to say that there was a giant crab enemy whose weak point you had to attack for massive damage.

ok, i just refreshed and it is finally showing as available for sale.  $29.99, which seems reasonable, fwiw.  Still, the fact that I had to literally wait until the game went on sale to find this out is flat out annoying.

can you, though? Or is this only available through one of the pricier, complicated PS Plus tiers? The PS Store listing lists no pre-order or pricing options.  Google hasn’t been helpful either.

same thing as them digging in their heels and claiming that that one weird indie game that aped the structure of Legend of Zelda was a Metroidvania.

My parents lived in Phoenix until extremely recently. They tried to sell me on the dry heat thing over and over. It only really worked for me up until like 100 or so. After that, it’s just a different kind of hell.

i imagine that it’s either going to be an all/nothing situation, or that very recognizable track would be the first one to be cut.  I’m sure Basil’s publishing has been sold to some conglomerate by now.

i mean, sure, a game is (hopefully) more than any single element that comprises it. But have you ever watched a movie where they couldn’t get the license rights to the music that was originally used and they just make something up? This happens on Netflix sometimes, or The State’s DVD collection was an infamous

I don’t think this is a game made for these times. Whatever tone they use to handle it is going to come off wrong. I enjoyed the gameplay, but it’s not like this was as finely tuned as Bayonetta or Nier: Automata. Moreover, I’m sure WB is only backing this because they know they can make a ton of money selling

...this is just satire, right? this isn’t even well done.   It’s so transparent and un-nuanced.  This is some 12 year old trying to make their name in humor.

i forgot about that! i unfollowed them when it happened and think i blocked it from my mind.

never mind... i misrembered your question in the last half hour lol.

I like Machine Girl; they remind me if a bunch of ultra-online kids who didn’t know better heard Atari Teenage Riot for the first time and just imprinted on them

i’m 50/50 with it.  Whichever one they would have added, I would have wanted the other.

actually, i will add one thing. There is one small plot beat in 5 that won’t hit you the same way if you haven’t played at least one of the two earlier games. It’s a minor thing and you’ll still appreciate it.  But you’ll appreciate it more if you have Persona experience.

storywise, they’re all independent but follow a basic formula (new kid goes through a year as transfer student at a Japanese high school and fights pseudo-Jungian spirit monsters) so you can decide on an individual basis.

pro controller: expensive, but an absolute lifesaver.

crap! i forgot about that.  boo....

I wish they would package this and the re-release of the first Nier game together for something like this. But I guess that’s too much to ask.

...or less than a tv show in some cases.  I know people who will spend 3-4 hours a day watching TV
