@oyumurtaci: Yeah, for some reason anodized purple aluminum was the "best" color at the time. I don't think purple is any easier to make, everybody just wanted it for everything (bicycle parts, RC car parts, etc)
@Maxichamp: No no - the reliant shuttle crashed in a huge fireball when the main tank didn't separate. That is why he (and I) are confused by this.
@ssurfer321: In most places they're only illegal if you use them while you're driving on public roads. I can hook up all the blue lights I want on my own private property or at a car show here in NC.
I love how his wheelchair has anodized purple bits, in true 90s mountain bike fashion.
@CaptMatt15 is high on 9000 rpm: I guess Mike also was not dumb enough to go do it in a suit.
Didn't Mike Rowe do this on Dirty Jobs a few seasons ago?
I've watched this several times since it came out, and every time I come away with 2 thoughts:
@AF_H1VLTG3 makes rotary love: Sabine Schmidt, or something similar
@Alfisted: Agreed on Dale Jr, but there are quite a few NASCAR drivers that are good open-wheelers and road-coursers as well.
@TurboBrick: I'm in for a Harbor Freight car, as long as I can take it off road and hoon it to bits.
Its nice price ONLY if Jobu gives it his blessing
@CaptMatt15 is waiting for his 159 Wagon: and by "917 Article" I mean the Panoz one, I got lost on youtube at work and discovered some cool 917 videos and put them together with your story... oops!
Peter, you are again my favorite writer! The 917 article was great (as a southern NASCAR-raised boy I love learning about euro racing history). This is again wonderful work, keep it coming!
@pauljones: Thank you! (I didnt think to look on lifehacker)
@CaptMatt15 is waiting for his 159 Wagon: Ahhh! how do I post pictures again?
