@John_Hazard: So true, his endings really don't do a whole lot for me. Pet Sematary was decent I thought. Wizard & Glass was exceptional for me (despite my disappointment in the rest of The Dark Tower - endings, again). I remember while reading Bag of Bones I thought that it may have been one of the greastest SK

@Excalibur: I, personally, try to do a little research on something I'm going to drop between $10-$20 on. I did work with somebody who also didn't know that Sweeney Todd was a musical. The previews & promo that we had in our neck of the woods didn't really have a whole lot of singing in them to warn you. True

@Excalibur: On the subject of Johnny Depp, I can't really say much. I think he's a great actor who takes some dumb roles sometimes. I thought he did a decent job in Alice but the movie fell flat. I love musicals, but Sweeney Todd just didn't do it for me. The movie where he plays an author accused of plagarism (an

@Excalibur: I really liked V as well. It has been quite a long time since I read the graphic novel (frankly, both 'V for Vendetta' & 'From Hell') but from what I understand, the first 2/3 of V were written as a serial in a magazine (not a 22 page comic or however long they were at the time) but then the magazine went

@Excalibur: I quite enjoyed 'From Hell' myself. It's not told from the same perspective as the graphic novel but that's Hollywood for you. It made for an entertaining movie.

@BouncedCzech: Marc Singer has already been cast in the second season, but I believe as part of a gov't group studying the "V," not Chad's father.

Because I haven't bought enough books I haven't read yet this year. Dammit.

Despite the awesome tongue-in-cheek- promo that Fox put together for the Fringe move, I still don't think it's going to make it. It is unfortunate because Fringe has gone from a show that I dismissed after two episodes in the first season to my "must watch" in the time that it has been on.

@Grahmo: Man, I love that song!

@mikeyhope1: Hilarious and most likely true.

@zenneth: Neither one actually. I got away from PC games for quite a while, went 100% console (yeah, I was a traitor after the XBox era started) until DragonAge: Origins came out & I finally went back a little. I'm running Win 7, would they still work?

@zenneth: I picked up the Collector's Edition of AoE3 and never played more than 4-5 hours of it. AoE2 was the be-all-end-all for me. I heard about America's Army, but never played it. Do you still play it? Did n't it come out years & years ago? I don't find that shooters tend to age nearly as well as RTS or

@zenneth: I am reminded about how completely amazing Chicago is everytime I end up going there. Two years ago, for my friends birthday (who is also a commenter but strangely enough I haven't looked him up to "heart" him) we saw the very last show of a band called Even In Blackouts, who lead guitarist/song-writer was

@zenneth: I caught an AFI show in Chicago last year with a buddy of mine & I'm supposed to go see Flogging Molly next March in Detroit. I still go to concerts once in a while., it's just a lot less than it used to be.

@zenneth: Totally seconded on Me First. Are A Drag is still one of the mt favorite albums. Their version of Rainbow Connection actually means more to me than the original & that's coming from a guy who owns the 1st 3 seasons of The Muppet Show. You know that those guys are just having a blast.

@zenneth: I was late to the punk game myself, I was in college by the time I started to get into any of it deeply, but one of my high school buddies was big into the Milkmen & this band called The Crucifucks.

@zenneth: Speaking of punk influences, here is a local band from Lansing, MI (since broken up & gone their separate ways) that helped really introduce me to punk music (even if they really more a "punkabilly" bad). This is not their best song IMO but the only one I could find on youtube.

@zenneth: Aw, now your making me blush. And a red heart to you as well.
