I’m i SoCal too. We ended up buying an eGolf. Comparing apples to apples, the Fiat was not that much cheaper, cetrainly not the $89/month.

Damn Dude!, what do you and your friends do for living?, I am serious. I sometimes do those long trips, but not very often.

I live in Long Beach, and I have may projects in San Bernardino, Victorville, and Ventura. I have a regular gas engine, but for those trips, the company pays me $0.54 / mille. So it is more cost-effective for me to rent a car, than drive my own. Besides freeway drawing is not like I am missing anything. The guys from

I’m in the process of installing a 5.7 kW system right now. Soon I will be ready for the zombie apocalypse.

If you take the plunge, you’ll realize that you use the EV more than you think you would, and the money you save in fuel and maintenance, can pay for a “freedom” car that allow you to do long trips.

250, Please. How many people do that? I live in SoCal, and I don’t know anybody with a 25o mile commute.

If you have a EV, you can switch to a Time of Use plan, and it is much cheaper if you charge at night, like most EV owners do.

The limitations of the short range on most EV’s has been blown out of proportion. 100 miles per charge is more than enough for 90% of people living in cities. Sure they are not for everybody, especially if it is your only car, and you park in a place with no access to a power outlet. For most homeowners, EV’s can be a

Those numbers are pretty much BS. On of my best friends recently leased a 500e. And yes the advertised $89/month. However, that is with $3,000 down, for only 7,000 miles/year, also they do not include the destination charge, taxes and registration. At the end, i think it ended up at around ~$250/month

Those guys are post card cute.

Actually GTS.

I’m always afraid that they are going to take a jump. One of my dogs is dumb enough to do it.

Chippy wants to go for a ride.

Same here. WD, Top Gear and Jay Leno’s Garage are the only car shows my wife can tolerate.

How can it be “legitimate” when there is somebody there?

Between “the primary function of the government is defence “ and this jewel “What the EPA does is highly questionable as far as actual benefits to society go”

That sounds like a win-win situation. Finger to Trump, lower emiemissions, improved charging infrastructure, and lower EV prices in the  future due to economy of scale.

Have you also considered operating costs?

How about solar and batteries for backup?

I’ll take the pink car over that stupid race suit he is wearing.
