Mountain Dew is somehow considered the worst (I think technically it does have a higher sugar and caffeine content?). Someone (20/20, maybe?) did a special on the people living in coal towns in West Virginia and talked about their horrible teeth. I remember the host saying it was largely due to Mountain Dew...not soda

They let you bring back your slurpee cup at the 7-11! I'm ashamed I know this. Tons of places will refill coffee mugs etc, too. I have no idea if it's a plastic/metal/ceramic vs styrofoam thing, though. Just bring a big water bottle and ask them to refill it! :P

My boyfriend and I are about to move in together; I make about $70K more than he does. I have my PhD and have been blessed with a good job, he has his Masters and has found it hard to break into a field related to his education; he's loving working part-time teaching kids, though.

As a federal government employee, I can tell you that many of the positions are almost impossible to subjectively assign based on gender. Hires are done through several rounds, the first few being done by a distinct HR/computer system; the hiring office doesn't even get to see the applications until later. Raises and

Ha, I'm living outside NC, now, but I sing its praises to everyone. Here in MD, they have a seriously warped idea about the whole state being this backwater country folk farmland. I tell them how amazing the triangle area is (I'm from Hillsborough). I'm sorry for sending people down :(.

Yes, it does, actually. The FDA has a far more rigorous screening and approval process than several of the European regulatory bodies. Those risks of Accutane are known; it isn't as if the FDA is surprised they're happening. They made a decision that for a high enough percentage of the population affected, the

My mom likes to say that dogs have a sense about the character of a person, that they like good people and will growl or bark at bad people. My dog is not only a racist, but he hates my sweetest-guy-ever boyfriend and nearly strangles himself trying to get a pet from the guy who hangs out by the gas station and says

I almost wrote to my boyfriend and best friend to ask if they thought I was an attention whore. Then I realized I had answered my own question. oh well, #roomtogrow

Oh, good! I need to spend lots of money on craft supplies and I didn't know whether to go to Hobby Lobby or Micheal's. Decision made (unless Michael's is also the worst in which case I will just make my own canvas...somehow).

Looks tasty to me, as it looks like a dumpling in chicken noodle soup or a matzoh ball and I will eat the crap out of both of those.

You know, there are so many places that are legitimately not accessible AT ALL that I've lost the ability to be frustrated by a side door or alley entrance, though I 100% agree that it sucks to have to enter behind dumpsters etc. I think, for me, if a place has an accessible entrance at all, I cut it some slack.

She would never go through a side door? WTF? As a fellow wheelchair user, I've used side doors, back doors, and service entrances (I rode up a service elevator with a vegetable shipment to a burger place in Chicago several times). I support her fight for accessibility (Hollister stores are NOT usually accessible), but

I'm not seeing the big deal for most of the princesses. It's a different artistic aesthetic, to be sure, and has added sparkle, but most that are clearly wearing make up or have big boobies or tiny waists were that way to begin with. Merida does look older, and I can see that Tiana's nose has been made "perkier", but

Does he mean that you should be saving 20% of your paycheck for retirement alone (plus any other savings) or you should be saving 20% in total, for all savings needs?

I wish someone would explain the psychology behind why I subject myself to reading and knowing this stuff. It is so thoroughly horrifying that I literally have stomach cramps if I read too much or dwell on it. But I feel like I need to know every detail. I really don't understand why; it doesn't help me in any way to

Not necessarily; it doesn't mention that she is having a hysterectomy. With exogenous hormone stimulation (she would have to inject the hormones her ovaries would normally make during the pregnancy), she could have IVF, have the embryos implanted, and have a successful pregnancy.

I guess, but I WANTED to be dating Ryan Gosling, but have ended up quite happily with a short, hairy, adorable Jewish boy. I just meant our ideal of who we're most attracted to don't always line up with who we end up dating.

Nooooooooo....that got cancelled!? I have the sads.

My boyfriend WILL NOT talk to me in an elevator if there are other people around. He is deathly afraid of it somehow getting awkward and then being confined to ride several more floors in awkwardness (the horror!). It is his most solid rule, it seems. I'm not even trying for cutesy baby talk or "howsabout a blow job,

Is there a semantics issue at play? When I think "type", I think of the type that I TYPICALLY or MORE OFTEN am attracted to. I would say my "type" are dark haired white men who are not too tall. I don't think that indicates internalized racism, because I find tons of men of other races (and hair colors and heights)
