Not everything needs sound, and sometimes, like when you’re a squishy cyclist, it’s nice to be able to hear SC’s famously bad drivers coming up behind you.

And if you crash, you can repair them with a multitool. Makes for a lot less handwringing than car ownership.

Ok, I can get with you on that part. My family prays at all their meals at home but rarely/never out. Saying the blessing at restaurants has always weirded me out...it’s such a consumery thing to do while attempting to praise God.

On point two, it could be my Southern non-confrontationalness (it’s a word for today),

There’s no reason for us to know that. Because it’s wrong. The crescent was used *before there were even states,* William Moultrie put it there in 1775, and said the crescent idea was taken from a pin or emblem on their uniform hats, worn during the defense of Sullivan’s Island. Which gives you the meaning you’re

Aside from complete removal, I think leaving it flying was the “better,” relatively speaking, of the two options (full mast v half mast). Lowering it would recognize that it has some sort of official significance.

Most of us are pretty ok, I find. I’m in a country that’s like 88% white right now and everybody’s real nice.

I’ve never seen any coverage of it and I’ve lived in the state in question for 25 years. State employees get the day off- or some do, but with take some other holiday if they want to work that one or something- and pretty much everyone else has no idea it’s happening. Trash gets picked up, meters get checked, buses

A bunch of people in the South know that, too. Including the fact that the one you showed IS the Stars and Bars.
The one at the State House is the Confederate Naval Jack, as it’s square, and the rectangular one that flew on the State House from the 50s-2000 was some sort of minor battle flag. Why they chose that in the

You can’t just bow your head to at least show some deference to your hosts’ customs while you’re at their table, under their roof, and eating their food? Just smile and play along; if they’re aggressively trying to convert you it’s one thing, but a simple prayer before a meal is pretty easy to smile and fake your way

Because making obscene gestures at them is going to change their minds?

They would actually care a lot, because that’uns not American.
And National Socialism is also a form of big government.

This cop doesn’t know much about Corvette drivers.
“The Corvette can handle the speed” yeah, but can the driver handle the Corvette? That’s the important question.

On....your phone? Enlighten me. I am listening.

Don’t be hatin’ on Sparkle City now, y’hear? We’ll have to call the boys on ya.

But by that logic you should also avoid getting married and forgo that tax break so you don’t wind up losing everything in a divorce, except the odds of divorce are way higher than the chance that your 19yo kid will commit vehicular manslaughter.
Either way, major props for managing all of responsibility- I felt like

That seems a bit extreme.

Je t'aime beaucoup, Marion, je t'aime bien.

I've done ride-alongs at auto-Xs in an FR-S, stock with the possible exception of some summer tires, and I thought it was a hoot. Did pretty good in it's class, too, though don't think it won. At least as good out of the box as a Miata or GTI, both of which cost a little more/A LOT more former/latter.

Dude. I was looking at sports car rentals in Prague for a trip there in a few weeks (not for this type of stuff, more along the lines of Cooper S/Miata/TT-type things), and some company said they offered one or two SSC Ultimate Aeros. Scam-dar was immediately triggered and I got right the hell off that site.
