You don't really need to go to school. Buy a decent starter interchangeable lens camera (Canon Rebel, Sony a6000, etc.), read a few books on composition, the light triangle (ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture), and your choice of editing software, then go out and shoot. A LOT.
