BUT WHAT ABOUT NORMCORE?! It's like soo edgy because it's so average. See? So normal, it's really a social commentary. Or something. #performanceart?

And then dat jaw clench!
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT
Yep. I was a competitive swimmer for 10 years. I haven't been in the water in at least 2 years (I miss it so much! But alas, I cannot afford a gym membership right now so I am trying to run semi-regularly ughh) But it's just like riding a bicycle. Once you get the strokes down, you never forget them.
babyyyyy!!!!!!
Yea, that's the main reason I will never post or send a picture of me in my underwear or anything. Because once that is out there on social media, it's OUT THERE for everyone to see, including future employers. Not to mention I get scared out of doing it by these revenge porn stories of girls whose bodies or heads…
My aunts on my dad's side of the family are like that. Hearing those judgey comments about extremely thin celebs who were smaller than my at the time 11 year old self who had just gone through puberty and hadn't grown into my new body yet is part of what caused my eating disorder.
I'm the same way. When I workout I try even harder than usual to eat healthy that day.
YES. IRL he does nothing for me, facially. (Although I like his bod and THAT VOICE...unf.) But with his Sherlock hair/clothes he looks much more attractive.
Oops! Sorry, I did miss that. And we disagree on whether or not therapy can help the majority of people who pursue it as a treatment option, but that's okay.
Also, I would like to add that I think a big, if not the main, reason why a lot of people say to keep trying therapy is not because they are doubting someone's past experiences with therapists or because they are pretending that it's ok that there are bad therapists out there but because they genuinely want the person…
because I never said it was.
Ok. Well, I cannot speak for either of them, only myself. And you did not seem to address any of the issues I personally brought up about why therapy is a much more nuanced profession for variable reasons than you made it seem. I am not making excuses, just stating facts. However, I will say I agree that people who…
Wow your former therapist sounds truly awful (telling you you are fat?? And dumb?? Really??) and extremely unprofessional (a 50 minute session needs to end promptly in 50 minutes.) As a therapist myself, I know we are not perfect and are humans too, which I was pointing out higher in the thread, but that behavior is…
I'm sorry to hear that both of them didn't help. :/ Depression itself can be really frustrating and it sounds like you needed suggestions that weren't provided to you. Just curious what they said when you asked them for suggestions? They sound very client-centered in their orientation, which can be helpful for some…
And that is a perfectly valid thing to do. Clients drop out of therapy all the time. I'm not saying that is necessarily good or that it's never the therapist's fault, but it is not as easy as the "fees for services rendered" model you are making it out to be. I would say what separates therapy from other professions…
